We’re excited to have him join us once again as a speaker at a Talk & Tea - this time he’ll speak on how DNA is changing family history research!

This second Talk & Tea

$10 cash at the door,

In Canada, we mark the 23rd of February as NationalAviationDay, to honour the day in 1909 in Baddeck NS, when the Silver Dart made the first controlled powered flight in Canada.

The original Silver Dart was designed and built by the Aerial Experiment Association, which had been formed under the guidance of Dr Alexander Graham Bell.

Locally, we have aviation all around us on the Saanich Peninsula, from the inaugural mail flight in 1931; to an RCAF aerodrome' to our association with the beloved #MartinMars waterbombers; to the current Victoria International Airport airport that so

many of us use!

February 21st was MotherLanguageDay, an international recognition of linguistic diversity.

Joining the Indigenous people, immigrants came from various places in the world to arrive in North America.

Here on the #SaanichPeninsula, early immigrant languages included those from Scotland, Hawaii, Sweden, China, England, India, Ireland, France, California, Japan, Germany, Wales, and Australia, in addition to the first language, #SENĆOŦEN, spoken by the

#W̱SÁNEĆ people!
