Volunteers are the backbone of our Society, and we are always in need of more. Learn more and spread the word with our volunteer poster. The pay is non-existent, but the rewards are great!
TEN WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED & HELP THE SOCIETY:
PLANNING & PR
Help to plan activities and advertising. We are always looking for new ideas to host activities that will appeal to a broader audience. Bring your ideas.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Assist with events such as Remembrance Day Open House, decorating for Christmas, Christmas in the Cabin including help with children's activities, Talk & Tea events, and more.
ADMINISTRATION
Serve on the Board of Directors. Not as onerous as it might sound. Usually only about 8 meetings in the year, and each one only lasting about 1 hour. During 2 summer and 2 winter months most decisions are made by email.
VOLUNTEER
For Log Cabin Museum open hours on Saturdays 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Have your friends drop by to visit with you in the Museum.
ARCHIVES
Interested in archival work? We are looking for volunteers to help in our archives. Great opportunity to gain hands-on experience!
BUILDINGS
The volunteers who currently look after our Buildings and Maintenance would enjoy having some company.
TOURS
Assist with school tours, which can be a lot of fun, and you can feel a sense of satisfaction in knowing you are contributing to the children's knowledge of historyl We also have occasional tours by seniors' homes, again interesting as they recall their memories of days gone by.
CREATIVE
If you have display skills or interest, you might wish to assist with arranging displays. We try to rotate displays from time to time in order to create interest for people to return to visit.

We operate entirely by volunteer help and are supported by memberships, donations, and a limited grant. If you would care to make a donation, we are a registered non-profit society and would happily give you a receipt for tax purposes.
